Did you know that heavy menstrual bleeding affects up to 30% of women of reproductive age? If you are one of these people, Evana is here to help. Our over-the-counter treatment is available to buy online and in a range of pharmacies.

Help reduce heavy menstrual bleeding and feel more like yourself again with Evana Heavy Period Relief Tablets.

What is Evana®?

Evana Heavy Period Relief 500mg tablets contain the active ingredient tranexamic acid, which is a non-hormonal treatment option for heavy menstrual bleeding. It has been shown to reduce heavy menstrual bleeding by up to 60%.

You may be suffering from heavy menstrual bleeding if you experience any of the following symptoms:

  • Bleed through to your clothes or bed sheets at night, also known as flooding
  • Need to change your tampon or towel every 2 hours or more often
  • Feel the need to double up with a tampon and towel
  • Prevents you from doing your normal daily activities such as going to work, exercising, or socialising outside of your home.

Tranexamic acid works to reduce blood loss by helping your body's natural blood clotting process. Classed as an anti-fibrinolytic medicine, tranexamic acid helps blood clots to stay in place, which results in reduced menstrual blood loss.

Why choose Evana®?

There are many reasons to choose Evana if you suffer from heavy periods. Not only can this medicine help to reduce heavy menstrual bleeding by up to 60%, but research has also found that it can help improve quality of life when it comes to social, leisure and physical activites.

In a usage study, most women reported a significant reduction in heavy menstrual bleeding within the first cycle of use while a small proportion of women found it took several cycles to achieve this. Please consult your doctor if menstrual bleeding is not reduced after three cycles.

Evana doesn't have any impact on fertility and it can be stopped at any time.

How to take Evana® for heavy periods

Evana should be taken only once heavy menstrual bleeding has started. The recommended dosage is:

  • 2 Evana tablets 3x daily as long as needed, but for a maximum of 4 days
  • This dosage may be increased to 4x daily if there is very heavy menstrual bleeding - but no more than 8 tablets (4g) should be taken per day
  • Evana can be used for as long as your periods remain regular and heavy
  • However, if you have taken the medication as directed for 3 periods and you have not noticed a reduction in your menstrual bleeding, you should seek advice from your pharmacist or doctor. They might recommend an alternative non-hormonal treatment or a hormonal medicine.
